by donating blood

WHY SHOULD I DONATE?

Thalassaemia Major is a highly prevalent genetic blood disorder in Cambodia that has tremendous biopsychosocial and economic impacts on children and their families. Due to a lack of blood
donations nationwide, many children with Thalassaemia Major do not receive regular treatment causing serious developmental delays, bone deformities, weakness and fatigue.
Without access to treatment, a child diagnosed with Thalassaemia Major is unlikely to live to 15 years old.

Each month, VOICE clients living with Thalassaemia Major need more than 30 blood donation cards to receive life saving blood transfusions.

If you live in Cambodia or will be visiting, please consider giving a live saving blood donation.

HOW DO I GIVE BLOOD?

DONATING TAKES 3 EASY STEPS

Donating blood in Cambodia is safe and easy!

Check out the video below (created by a VOICE volunteer blood donor) highlighting just how easy it is to donate at the National Blood Transfusion Centre in Phnom Penh.

  • 18 to 60 years

  • Weigh 45 kgs or more (100 lbs)

  • Blood donors must have good health

Step 2: Contact VOICE

  • Complete registration form (available in English and Khmer)

  • Meet with a doctor briefly to discuss health, check blood pressure and test for blood type
